Microsoft Dynamics NAV
Microsoft Dynamics NAV is a comprehensive ERP solution that helps businesses streamline their processes and improve their performance.
9altitudes is known for challenging its customers when a better alternative exists. Welldana’s CEO experienced this firsthand:
“It was honestly a bit annoying that the project manager at 9altitudes didn’t just follow our wishes,” says Kim Madsen with a smile, before adding: “We were in an operational situation and things were busy. Our main focus was to move the project forward. But in hindsight, we’re glad that our consultant asked us one more time if we were certain about our choice, especially when an alternative solution was actually better. On top of that, we received management-level advice on how to improve daily processes.”
Welldana now has clear visibility of all critical metrics, enabling quick decisions and better control.
Instant access to order and inventory data helps maintain high delivery reliability and strong customer service.
Tailored modules automate repetitive tasks, streamline workflows, and support growth in the pool, spa, and sauna market.
This demonstrates that 9altitudes knows what they are doing and has the professional pride to back it up.
“Having a clear view of purchase orders, sales orders, and other key metrics important to our business gives us peace of mind,” says Kim Madsen, CEO of Welldana.
Welldana, based in Esbjerg, is one of Scandinavia’s leading wholesalers in pools, spas, and saunas. Both the water and optimism are flowing in the West Jutland company, which has achieved double-digit revenue growth since last year – with the same number of employees.
During this growth, the Business Central solution from 9altitudes has played a key role in streamlining processes and providing oversight – particularly for warehouse, sales, and shipping.
Welldana has cemented its position in Denmark as the preferred business partner for pools, spas, and saunas. In the coming years, the goal is to gain an even stronger foothold in the rest of the Scandinavian market:
“Our main goal is to develop and expand the business to achieve the volume necessary to gain market share. We are primarily expanding in Sweden, where the market is several times larger than in Denmark,” says Kim Madsen.
The NAV solution supports Welldana’s growth and manages processes related to international sales and inventory:
“Because shipping costs from Denmark to Sweden are a significant factor, we have worked with advanced warehouses, setting up consignment stock for larger customers. Our NAV solution helps manage this. The system can handle the complexity of multiple locations and transfer orders between countries, as well as correct VAT handling, whether the same customer buys from a warehouse in Denmark or Sweden.”
9altitudes has extensive knowledge of how a trading company like ours operates. This creates security when embarking on something as important and comprehensive as an ERP project
Welldana is a modern wholesaler selling through over 300 retailers. Previously, employees had to check trays to see which orders were pending, how old they were, and whether any were delayed.
“We use two different role centers in Dynamics NAV with customized views, so each employee sees the most important data on their ‘homepage’ and can monitor the status of purchase and sales orders, delivery reliability, and more,” explains Kim Madsen.
As part of the agile project model, solutions like the role center are prioritized, designed, and developed based on input from Welldana’s super users. After development and setup, features are tested with super users in a workshop before going live as part of the solution.
Welldana’s NAV solution also includes the warehouse manager’s “cockpit,” giving the warehouse its own dashboard in Dynamics NAV to plan orders and routes efficiently across the 4,000-square-meter warehouse:
“The biggest difference is probably in our warehouse. Our warehouse manager focuses on ensuring the NAV tiles are ‘empty,’ meaning we have shipped everything promised to customers. This allows everyone in the company to see the status of webshop orders in real time and ensures high delivery reliability,” says Kim Madsen.
Until now, Welldana budgeted annual orders using manually collected data and calculations, such as last year’s sales and upcoming orders. This process has recently become much easier:
“The NAV system collects all relevant data from the past 12 months and, based on it, proposes a new annual order for the next 12 months. With a few adjustments, the system then creates the purchase order for you, which is a huge relief, especially with suppliers that have hundreds of items. Creating annual orders through the system is new for us, and I expect it will benefit us greatly in the long run,” says Kim Madsen.
Welldana’s previous Navision solution required many manual workflows, which are now replaced by a range of value-adding industry modules that often automate repetitive tasks.
The new NAV solution includes integrations such as:
Before starting the ERP project, Welldana evaluated several IT providers. A number of factors led them to choose 9altitudes:
“We value experience in managing projects according to a structured, agile model. At the same time, 9altitudes has extensive knowledge of how a trading company like ours operates. This creates security when embarking on something as important and comprehensive as an ERP project,” says Kim Madsen, adding: “Our ERP system is the lifeblood of Welldana. We cannot afford for things not to work. Choosing the right IT provider is therefore crucial, and we remain convinced that 9altitudes was the right choice for us.”
Project finance, timelines, and ongoing expectation management via steering committee meetings were anchored through 9altitudes’ agile project model.
Welldana is one of Scandinavia’s leading wholesalers in pools, spas, and saunas. The company has evolved from a traditional product-focused wholesaler to a modern business partner that also supports suppliers with marketing and business support.
